BAILEY Humphrey has knocked back rival interest and signed a new deal to stay at Gold Coast.

AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey has reported the Victorian has recommitted to the Suns until the end of 2030.

Humphrey had expressed a desire last season to return to his home state and even met with new Melbourne coach Steven King, with the Demons expected to make another play for him this year.

But the young gun will stay at the Suns on a new deal that takes him through to free agency.

Humphrey was already contracted to the Suns until the end of 2028.

His decision to stay in Queensland follows the similar contract call from young forward Jed Walter, who turned down rival interest to also stay at the Suns.

More to come ...
