Williamstown have sent a statement to the rest of the competition on the eve of finals, defeating reigning premiers North Melbourne-Werribee by 37 points at DSV Stadium on Saturday. After a flurry of goals in the initial stages of the game, the Seagulls would settle for a 13-point quarter time lead before they extended that advantage to 28 points by half time, keeping the away side scoreless for the term in the process. It’s the third term that would be Williamstown’s most dominant, who in the space of six minutes, booted four consecutive majors to reach a game-high 46 points and all but put the game beyond doubt on their way to inflicting North Melbourne Werribee’s largest defeat since Round 6, 2024. Mia Zielinski took a step closer to winning the competition leading goalkicker award with two majors, she was one of four Seagulls to kick two goals, one of those being Emily Eaves who also had 25 disposals, eight clearances and four inside 50s. Renee Tierney had another terrific display for the visitors, finishing with 23 disposals, 10 tackles and 10 intercept possessions whilst teammate Alana Barba still had no issues finding the footy, leading the way with 25 touches and five inside 50s.

Box Hill claimed consecutive wins to jump up to eighth on the VFLW ladder, accounting for Casey with a 61-point triumph at Box Hill City Oval. After producing the only goal of the opening term, the Hawks look to put the game to bed in the second quarter when they kicked four goals from six scoring shots, whilst keeping the Demons to without a score. With a 34-point advantage at main break, a seven-goal second half helped the home side produce their highest score of the season and their highest score since Round 1, 2025. Hannah Stuart was outstanding for the Hawks, finishing with 30 disposals, eight clearances, five inside 50s and a goal. She was one of nine individual goalkickers with Mikaylah Antony, Jessica Matin and Rebecca Neaves all booting two goals apiece, meanwhile Kayley Kavanagh and Stasia Stevenson combined for 28 tackles. Delany Madigan was a standout in defence for Casey, amassing 14 disposals, eight intercept possessions and seven rebound 50s.

Essendon made its way back onto the winners list following a 13-point triumph over Sandringham at NEC Hangar on Saturday. Although the Bombers would ultimately lead this encounter from start to finish, the Zebras played well to keep it close, only trailing by six points at quarter time and by 10 points at the main break. The hosts would keep their opponents at bay for most of the second half and hit a game-high lead of 18 points after kicking the first goal of the last quarter, before the visitors made another push for a come from behind triumph when they booted two goals in three minutes to reduce the deficit to six points with minutes remaining. Essendon would hold their nerve to prevail for the fourth time this season, with Isobella Hishongwa-Gibb sealing her side’s win with a major. Jacqui Vogt led the way for the Dons with 29 disposals and six clearances, and Amelie Gladman also impressed with 24 touches and a goal. Maya Louvel-Finn (19 disposals, seven intercept possessions) had a solid performance for Sandringham.

Port Melbourne’s five-game winning run came to an end in thrilling fashion, as Collingwood picked up a two-point triumph at ETU Stadium. The in-form Borough was the better of the two sides in the opening term, kicking two late goals to lead by 12 points at quarter time before the Pies changed the momentum in the second quarter to help level proceedings by the main break. Last year’s Grand Finalists threatened to break the game open in the third quarter by kicking two goals to nil before Port Melbourne made another charge. They kicked the first goal of the last quarter inside one minute of play, which the Pies responded to almost immediately, before an Emily Ashley-Cooper major at the 12-minute mark made it a three-point ball game. The hosts would continue to press inside forward 50 but could only muster one more rushed behind as the Magpies held on for victory. Amelia Peck kicked multiple majors for the first time since Round 10 with a game-high three majors, meanwhile teammate Abbey McDonald was resolute in defence with 20 disposals, 11 intercepts and five rebound 50s. As well as her goal, Ashley-Cooper also had 21 touches, and four clearances, with Mia Caffry dominating once again with 32 disposals, 12 clearances and seven intercept possessions.

A third straight win has kept Geelong’s finals hopes alive, as they comfortably defeated Tasmania by 42 points at Deakin University. The Cats held a narrow eight-point lead at quarter time and could’ve extended it greatly at the main break but only kicked one goal from six scoring shots in the second term. Despite this, they kept the Devils to without a score in that quarter and did the same in the third, as the produced a more accurate three-goal term on their way to an impressive win at home, to stay four points outside of the top six. The Cats win was led by the likes of Isabella Davies (26 disposals, five inside 50s and one goal), Kate Surman (22 disposals, eight tackles, four inside 50s) and Mekah Morrissy (21 disposals, seven tackles, four clearances), who were some of the many contributors in the result. Sarah Skinner was kept busy in the backline for the Devils, producing 16 disposals, nine intercept possessions and eight rebound 50s, while Ava Read booted two goals.

It’s now six wins on the trot for Carlton who stay withing touching distance of the top two after a 13-point win over the Western Bulldogs at Mission Whitten Oval on Sunday. The Bulldogs got the jump in the first term, kicking the first three majors of the game to take a 13-point advantage into the first change. The Blues picked up the pace in the second term and did so by keeping their opponents scoreless to level the scores by half time. A further two majors would help Carlton lead narrowly before they would repeat the dose in the final term to distance themselves well and truly from the Western Bulldogs and keep their winning run intact. Hannah Scott’s scintillating form continued into another week as the Blues star amassed 27 disposals, eight intercept possessions and six clearances, with usual running mate Octavia Di Donato not far behind with a performance that included 25 disposals, six inside 50s and a goal. Ellie Bishop was excellent for the Dogs with 27 disposals and a game-high seven clearances along with Ellie Gavalas who had 26 touches, five inside 50s and five tackles.
