SYDNEY fans showed their support on Sunday after a tumultuous week that rocked the club.

Supporters were out in force ahead of the Swans' AFLW clash against Essendon at the SCG to begin a double-header which also sees the men's side take on North Melbourne.

One fan held up a sign that read: 'Be confident, be courageous, stand proud even when it hurts Bloods'.

It comes after five Swans players - Riley Bice, Nick Blakey, Isaac Heeney, James Jordon and Chad Warner - were suspended for the rest of the season after an alleged incident in Melbourne which is the subject of a police investigation.

The players were suspended for breaching club standards, with the club sanctions separate from the ongoing Victoria Police investigation.
