PORT Adelaide defender Ella Heads has been hit with a three-match ban for rough conduct for her head-high bump on Melbourne forward Eliza McNamara, while Richmond ruck Montana McKinnon and West Coast mid Abbygail Bushby have both suspended for one-game.

Heads collected McNamara high early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game at Casey Fields, with the bump ruling the Demon out of the game.

McNamara left the field in the hands of club physios and was immediately transferred to hospital with a suspected fractured jaw.

The Match Review Officer graded the incident as careless, severe impact and high contact, leading to the three-game suspension.

The suspected injury continued a frustrating run for the 24-year-old, who has had several injuries across her short career including a serious back issue that caused her to miss a year of football in 2022.

AFLW expert Kate McCarthy told AFL.com.au's The Wrap that the bump was "one of the worst I've seen on the AFLW field."

"It was probably one of the worst bumps I've seen on the AFLW field, in regard to being late, being high and just being really careless, and not eliciting that duty of care that we now know is placed on you as an AFLW player when you elect to bump," McCarthy said.

Meanwhile, Tiger McKinnon has been offered a one-match ban for rough conduct for a third-quarter incident involving St Kilda star Jesse Tawhiao-Wardlaw.

The Match Review Officer graded the incident as careless, medium impact and high contact, drawing the one-game ban.

Young Eagle Bushby was charged by the MRO for forceful front on contact for an incident in the first quarter in West Coast's loss to Brisbane.
