ADELAIDE key defender Jordon Butts wants to join the Western Bulldogs.

The 26-year-old informed both clubs of his decision on Friday after completing a medical at the Whitten Oval on Monday. 

Butts is set to move as a free agent next month on a five-year deal. 

After securing a commitment from Zak Butters earlier this month, the Bulldogs have also been working on securing Butts. 

The Western Bulldogs explored a move for Butts this time last year, but a trade was too difficult to satisfy the Crows, especially 12 months out from free agency.

Luke Beveridge has been wanting a key defender for some time and is now set to have another one to play alongside James O’Donnell and Buku Khamis - who recently signed a five-year extension - ahead of an important 2027 campaign. 

Adelaide wanted to keep Butts and still hoped this week that he would remain at the club. 

Butts managed only nine games this year under Matthew Nicks for a total of 94 across eight seasons at the Crows.
