ADELAIDE'S Luke Pedlar has requested a trade to Port Adelaide, reports AFL.com.au’s Cal Twomey.

The out-of-contract forward/midfielder is set to join a small group of players to have played for both South Australian sides, including the likes of Billy Frampton and Matthew Bode. 

Pedlar has opted to join cross-town rivals Port Adelaide, rather than make a move to Victoria to join Essendon, who also had interest in him.

The 24-year-old has booted 48 goals from 49 games in the tricolours after being selected with pick 11 in the 2020 national draft, but managed just ten matches in 2026 and had fallen out of favour under Matthew Nicks. 

Pedlar has shown an ability to play both as a midfielder and as a forward, but has been plagued by injury in recent seasons, finding it difficult to cement a place in the best 23.

Elsewhere, emerging Crow Charlie Edwards is on the verge of signing a one-year extension, keeping him at West Lakes for another year after breaking through for two AFL games earlier this year.
