COLLINGWOOD vice-captain Jordyn Allen believes the Pies should consider doing an external review as pressure continues to grow on the club’s fractured AFLW program.

The Pies have slumped to a win-loss record of 1-9 in 2026, sitting in 16th position on the AFLW ladder.

Captain Ruby Schleicher is set to depart the club to return to Western Australia, while there are over half a dozen players out of contract heading into next season.

When asked by Tagged co-host Sarah Hosking whether the Pies should undergo an external review, Allen outlined why she thinks it could be a good step in the right direction.

"I think the program will be reviewed. Sitting here as a person who is looking at the situation, I think it would make sense," Allen told AFL.com.au’s Tagged.

Recently, both Carlton and Richmond have done external reviews, while St Kilda is also set to do similar after Nick Dal Santo’s departure as senior coach.

"I think it's been a net positive (for those other clubs), but that's a decision for the footy club to make," she said.

Richmond veteran Hosking shared how every staff member and every player was interviewed as a part of Richmond's thorough six-week process.

"It's not just all doom and gloom and what's wrong with the club, it is everything, the positives as well. Every single player and staff member gets heard," she said.

"It’s a really thorough process.

"What came out of that was that our playing group was really well connected. Players were heard, I think there's some real key positives that can come out of something like that."

Allen said the constant noise had taken its toll, having to constantly have the same discussions repeatedly.

"Not shying away from the fact that it's been exhausting, from a staff and player perspective, because it’s been so covered in the media, you're having players, teammates, ex-teammates, ex-staff members reach out, genuinely just wanting to know how you’re going," she said.

"It is so well-intentioned and you are so fortunate to have so many people who care so deeply, but it is exhausting when you're constantly rehashing conversations."
