KEY CROW ON TRADE RADAR

RIVAL clubs have been placed on alert, with Adelaide's three-time premiership defender and three-time All-Australian gun Sarah Allan expected to explore interest across the next month.

It's understood Allan is open to a move away from the Crows, despite being contracted through until 2027, with multiple teams recently enquiring about her interest in a potential trade elsewhere.

Allan is renowned as one of the best key defenders in the competition and is a former co-captain at Adelaide, having held the title alongside Ebony Marinoff in 2024 and 2025 before stepping down from the role on the eve of this season.

She was again an ever-present for the Crows this year, notching up her 100th game for the club earlier in the campaign, but has signalled she would entertain a move ahead of December's AFLW Trade Period.

Adelaide is expected to be among the most aggressive teams in this window and has already been active in trade talks across the League, having moved out fellow premiership great Anne Hatchard last year.

Allan is expected to be the headline name involved in trade talks at the Crows, having won premierships in 2017, 2019 and 2022 and having claimed an All-Australian blazer in 2020, 2021 and 2022. – Riley Beveridge

PIES LOOK TO TURN THE TIDE

COLLINGWOOD is close to convincing Mattea Breed to re-sign as it seeks to stop an exodus of senior players, having held its opening discussions with West Coast in trade talks for departing captain Ruby Schleicher.

It's understood the Magpies' starting point in negotiations for Schleicher was a deal involving multiple first-round picks and a player, a request that was instantly rebuffed by the Eagles.

Schleicher is set to leave for West Coast, where she has been offered a four-year deal, having initially only been offered a one-year contract extension to remain at Collingwood.

But the club has made headway on a host of other uncontracted players, with Breed expected to stay on a two-year deal through until 2028 after positive negotiations across recent weeks.

Collingwood chief executive Craig Kelly and the club's AFLW football boss Jess Burger have held individual discussions with multiple players across the last week, attempting to sort out ongoing contract situations.

The club has raised its offers for Tarni White and Bri Davey amid rival interest, while Lauren Butler has surveyed the market but also has a one-year deal to stay and remains a chance of re-signing.

Collingwood has also been aggressive in pursuing senior leaders from elsewhere as it looks to rebuild a young squad, with Western Bulldogs co-captain De Berry and respected Carlton midfielder Maddy Guerin both on the radar.

The Pies are among a host of sides to have shown an interest in Berry amid her struggles to regain her place in the Dogs' side, while they've also chased Guerin as a veteran option as she recovers from an ACL injury. – Riley Beveridge

TALKS BEGIN ON PICK SWAPS

A HOST of clubs are expected to jostle for the top selections at this year's draft, with talks already underway on a series of potential first-round pick swaps.

Rival clubs have earmarked Essendon's No.3 pick, Greater Western Sydney's selections at No.4 and No.8, and Brisbane's choice at No.7 as all potentially being up for grabs for the right offers.

Adelaide is among the sides keen to get back into the draft's top 10, while Hawthorn and North Melbourne are also looking to move up with their multiple first-round selections.

The Hawks currently have picks No.11 and 13 courtesy of trades completed last year, while the Kangas are now slated to choose at No.15 and 18.

W Daily: Excitement continues to build for finals

Kaitlyn Ferber and Phoebe McWilliams have the latest footy news on W Daily. We’ve officially launched the 2026 AFLW finals series, and the excitement continues to build ahead of the weekend.

Published on Nov 4, 2026

The Giants have Academy considerations, which is why they could look to shift picks No.4 and No.8 back in the order, as the club looks to match multiple bids on likely first-round prospects Majella Day and Morgan Stevens.

The Lions are in a similar boat, having had six Academy youngsters invited to the most recent Telstra AFLW Draft Combine.

AFLW teams currently have to use a pick within 18 selections to match a bid on an Academy or father-daughter prospect, though that will be reeled in from 2027 onwards.

Other clubs have flagged an interest in splitting their early picks to get multiple cracks at this year's pool, which is the last draft before Tasmania's arrival in the competition. – Riley Beveridge

CATS SET TO REWARD COMEBACK STORY

GEELONG is set to reward revitalised forward Chloe Scheer with a fresh two-year deal following a career-best season under new coach Mick Stinear.

Scheer has returned from two years out of the game due to injury by kicking 22 goals from 12 matches this season, finishing fifth in the League's goalkicking tally.

She will subsequently agree to a new deal with the Cats that will take her through until 2028, just reward for an impressive comeback season.

WINDOW TO SEEK FRESH START

PORT Adelaide youngster Piper Window is expected to request a trade when the club starts its exit meetings later this week.

However, the Power have agreed terms on a three-year deal for fellow talent Lauren Young and are set to soon finalise a deal that will take her through until 2029.

Window has been searching for midfield opportunities elsewhere and has attracted the interest of a host of clubs, most notably Greater Western Sydney.

But she's yet to officially decide on a new home, with rivals expected to begin meeting with Window in the coming weeks now that Port Adelaide's season is over.

The 21-year-old played 10 senior games this year, but was forced into a half-forward role where she averaged 7.9 disposals and 4.3 tackles per game.

Initially drafted with the No.19 pick in the 2023 draft, Window has played 27 games across the last three years for Port Adelaide. – Riley Beveridge
