PLAYERS from Canada and Ireland have dominated the men's and women's World Teams announced ahead of the AFL International Cup 2014 finals to be played on Saturday.

Eleven Canadian players were selected in total (nine women and two men) while 10 Irish players (six women, four men) were named in the teams of the tournament.

Amy Legault from Canada was named captain of the women's team and Mick Finn from Ireland was honoured with captaincy of the men's team.

The International Cup 2014 Grand Finals will be played on Saturday. Canada Northern Lights will take on Ireland in the women's decider from 2.10pm at Punt Road Oval, followed by Ireland v Papua New Guinea in the men's final on the MCG as the curtain-raiser for the Hawthorn-Geelong clash.
