WEST Coast has axed recruit Lewis Jetta for the third time this season, with former Lion Jack Redden called up for the clash with Carlton at the MCG.

In good news for Melbourne, midfielder Angus Brayshaw will play his first game since round five, after consecutive head knocks in the space of three weeks in May.

Jetta was dropped following his nine-disposal display during last week's win over North Melbourne.

Eagles coach Adam Simpson said on Friday that he would bring Jetta across to Melbourne as an emergency for Sunday's game.

"It's a longer term thing. It's not something I'm stressing about," Simpson said of Jetta's axing.

"I'm sure he's disappointed, and he should be. But we'll be ok.

"He understands where he's at. He understands there's work to do. But we're both positive about where he's heading."

The Eagles have confirmed that Eric Mackenzie and Jackson Nelson, who were initially named in the Eagles’ 25-man squad, will play in the WAFL this weekend.

Redden played the opening 13 games of the season in his first year at West Coast, but went out of the team after the round 13 clash against the Brisbane Lions.

Carlton has made four changes following its 60-point loss to Adelaide last Sunday.

Charlie Curnow, Dylan Buckley, Kristian Jaksch and Nick Graham have all been included in the Blues' team, with Andrew Walker (knee), Dale Thomas (calf), Levi Casboult (suspended) and Andrejs Everitt all going out of the side.

The Demons had been particularly cautious with Brayshaw, who comes into the team to replace the unlucky Billy Stretch, but the young star has been in fine form in the VFL over the past two games, averaging 24 disposals.

Oscar McDonald (ankle) and Bernie Vince (shin) got through training on Friday morning and have been passed fit to face the Saints.

Jack Billings' 45 disposals and two goals in his return game from an ankle injury in the VFL last weekend has been rewarded with a recall to St Kilda's side.

Billings has not played at senior level since round 11 and was averaging a career-high 20.6 disposals before injury struck.

Small forward Jack Sinclair also comes back into the team with Luke Delaney and Shane Savage (concussion) going out.

Young Giants defender Harry Himmelberg will become Greater Western Sydney's third debutant of the season when he takes his place in the team against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday.

Himmelberg, pick No.16 at the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, has been in strong form off half-back in the NEAFL and had been on the cusp of selection for a number of weeks.

Sam Reid has been recalled to the Giants' team after 22 disposals and nine tackles in the NEAFL.

Rhys Palmer has been omitted, while midfielder Lachie Whitfield will miss the game through illness.

The Lions have lost key defender Daniel Merrett also to illness, but have regained emerging defender Tom Cutler returns from a hamstring injury after missing the Lions' past two clashes against Richmond and Gold Coast.
