ST KILDA will unveil midfield recruits Jack Steele and Koby Stevens in a near full-strength line-up for Thursday night's JLT Community Series clash against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.

The Saints have also selected defender Jake Carlisle to play his first competitive match since serving a season-long ban as part of Essendon's supplements scandal.

Carlisle will line up alongside backline recruit Nathan Brown in the 29-man squad and is set to play three quarters against the Power as he builds form and fitness ahead of round one.

St Kilda has also named former skipper Nick Riewoldt, who sat out the intraclub match last week and was expected to be rested for the opening pre-season game.

The only notable omissions for the Saints are midfielder Nathan Freeman and veteran Leigh Montagna, who was also earmarked for a rest in the early pre-season clash.

Port Adelaide has named ruckman Paddy Ryder for his first clash after serving a season-long ban, but former Bomber Angus Monfries hasn't been picked as he recovers from a shoulder injury.

Experienced campaigners Robbie Gray and Matthew Broadbent are also missing, but the Power have named draftees Sam Powell-Pepper, Joe Atley and Willem Drew, as well as rookie Brett Eddy.

St Kilda, however, has not named any first-year players, leaving out exciting young forward Josh Battle after his five-goal performance in last week's intra-club match.
