RICHMOND'S key forward stocks have suffered a blow with exciting youngster Mabior Chol breaking his foot.

The 21-year-old is set for an extended stint on the sidelines after suffering the setback at training during the week.

Damien Hardwick said the 198cm forward was one of the most exciting prospects on the list, when the coach spoke after the Tigers' Dreamtime at the 'G win on Saturday night.

Jack Riewoldt played as the Tigers' lone key forward in the club's premiership last year, while Callum Moore has partnered him in the past fortnight as Hardwick assesses his key position stocks.

Chol debuted for his only AFL match in round 23, 2016.
