GOLD Coast fans have turned on Tom Lynch, rating the free agent forward their club's biggest flop in a forgettable season.

Delivering their 2018 verdict on the Suns in an AFL.com.au survey, 34 per cent of fans said Lynch was their side's most disappointing player.

Lynch's announcement that he will leave the club marked the nadir of a season that saw Gold Coast register just four wins and a second consecutive 17th-place finish.

Upsetting the finals-bound Swans for one of those wins was a rare high point, in the process "destroying everyone's tipping" as fan Gav Bigman noted.

Jarrod Witts was voted Suns fans' player of the season for the second straight year.

Here are the full survey results, and a selection of Gold Coast fans' views on the season's highlights and lowlights.

What was the moment you'll remember?

Lachie Weller bombing two goals from outside 50m to get us home over the Swans at the SCG.
- Taj Carson, Northampton WA

Winning three out of the first five games was pretty special.
- Brodie Burgess, Auchenflower Qld

Suns v Brisbane at Metricon. The boys played a hard brand of footy and were there for each other.
- Matthew Vial, Elanora Qld

Beating the Swans, destroying everybody's tipping.
- Gav Bigman, Gold Coast Qld

What was the moment you'd rather forget?

Definitely the 100-plus loss to the giants. It's always a stark reminder of the gap between the two newest clubs.
- Bryce Martin, Rockhampton Qld

Finishing lower than Brisbane. We really need finals football or face the idea of closing down.
- Brandon Mavinil, Craigieburn Vic

That horrible Carlton game. The worst game of football I have ever seen. No excuses that day.
- Stephen Hughes, Windaroo Qld

Tom Lynch announcing his departure. Shattered.
- Francesco Creazzo, Camden Park SA
