MELISSA Lambert, the former welfare manager at Greater Western Sydney, has rejoined the Giants in a corporate role.

AFL.com.au has confirmed Lambert returned to the Giants in recent weeks after winning a community and group sales position.

The job is not involved in the football department, where Lambert and her husband Craig had previously been heavily involved in while heading the club's welfare program.

They were key figures in the Giants' early years in the competition as the fledgling club built their young list.

The pair departed the Giants after five years to join Brisbane and run the Lions' welfare program at the end of 2015.

However, Craig's time at the Lions was interrupted by a 12-month ban for his role in the Lachie Whitfield drugs saga, which saw the Greater Western Sydney midfielder banned for six months.

The former Brisbane and Richmond midfielder was the Giants' welfare manager at the time of the Whitfield incident, before joining the Lions later that season as their retention manager.

Melissa continued to work at the club after Craig and the Lions agreed to part ways midway through the 2017 season during his ban.

Craig has not been re-employed by the Giants.
