Bulldogs hand out numbers to 10 new recruits

PRIZED Western Bulldogs top draft pick Bailey Smith will wear the club's prestigious No.6 guernsey in 2019.

Smith, pick No.7 overall in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, will follow in the footsteps of club legends Charles Sutton, George Bisset and Bulldogs' games record-holder Brad Johnson in donning the jumper.

The last wearer of the No.6 jumper, Luke Dahlhaus, has departed for Geelong.

Recruits Taylor Duryea and Sam Lloyd have also been allocated their numbers, with the former Hawk to wear No.15 and the ex-Tiger to pull on the No.22.

Former Footscray VFL affiliate member and now fully-fledged senior-listed Bulldog Will Hayes will put on the No.32, while rookies Lachlan Young and Jordon Sweet are set to begin life at the kennel in jumper numbers 40 and 41 respectively.

As reported on Wednesday, Bulldogs father-son recruit Rhylee West, the son of club great Scott, will wear No.14 – the same number his father wore in his first two seasons before handing it over to Luke Darcy.
