LANCE Franklin, Jack Riewoldt and Tom Hawkins.

They're players you would expect to see at the top of goalkicking lists in the AFL.

But Marc Murphy, Scott Pendlebury and Nathan Jones? Perhaps not so much.

CLUB LISTS COMPARED Oldest? Youngest? Most experienced?

However, the aforementioned players are linked in one way – they will all enter season 2019 as the leading goalkickers for their respective clubs.

The trio of experienced midfielders are among the more surprising names going into this season who have kicked more goals for their own clubs than any of their teammates.

With 173 goals, Murphy is some way clear of Kade Simpson's tally at Carlton, Pendlebury's 166 goals for Collingwood is just ahead of Steele Sidebottom's haul of 151 majors, while Jones' 130 goals for Melbourne is one more than Jeff Garlett has managed for the club.

However, while Pendlebury and Jones have kicked the most goals for their own clubs, they are two of six players who have teammates that have kicked more total career goals than them. The others fall at Adelaide, Brisbane, Essendon and Gold Coast.

Three players lead both lists, while still kicking goals elsewhere. They are Josh Bruce, who also kicked three goals for Greater Western Sydney, Josh Kennedy, who kicked 11 goals for Carlton, and Lance Franklin, who put through 580 majors for Hawthorn.
