GOLD Coast coach Stuart Dew has given his strongest indication yet number two draft pick Jack Lukosius will debut against St Kilda on Sunday.

Lukosius played in both of the Suns' JLT Series matches, as well as their practice hit-out against Brisbane, and appears to have done enough to get a round one call-up.

"He'll be a big chance," Dew said on Tuesday.

"I think he's showed a fair bit.

"Just his maturity and ability to cope with different situations. He's a good decision maker, he uses the ball really well and is flexible."

After a difficult night in wet conditions against the Western Bulldogs, the South Australian teenager kicked two goals in a promising second half against Sydney.

Although he played the final quarter against the Swans in defence – where he shone – Dew said Lukosius would play forward if selected.

The Gold Coast coach confirmed Chris Burgess, recruited from SANFL club West Adelaide, would also make his debut.

The new-look Suns team could have as many as seven players donning the club colours for the first time against the Saints.
