ADELAIDE is set to be without dashing defender Wayne Milera for at least a month with an AC joint injury suffered in the 73-point thumping of Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

The 21-year-old came off second best in a collision with Suns defender Pearce Hanley in the second quarter.

Milera didn't play any further part in the game and finished the night with his left shoulder in a sling.

The 11th overall pick in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, Milera had a breakout season last year when he played mainly across half-back.

He started this season in fine form in defence but was moved to a half-forward role against the Suns.

Crows coach Don Pyke was resigned to Milera spending a considerable amount of time on the sidelines.

"It looks relatively serious," Pyke said.

"Once we get the scans, we'll be able to put a bit more light on that, but I'd suspect he'd be out for a reasonable chunk of time.

"I'd say it'd be north of four to six weeks."

Milera adds to a bulging injury list at West Lakes.

Defender Tom Doedee is out for the season with a torn ACL, ruckman Sam Jacobs will miss four to six weeks after having knee surgery and winger Paul Seedsman (knee), defender Luke Brown (foot) and midfielder Richard Douglas (ankle) are several weeks away.

First-year forward Chayce Jones will be available to return from concussion to replace Milera for next Saturday's encounter with St Kilda at Marvel Stadium, while Myles Poholke, fresh off four goals and 30 disposals in the SANFL, and Jordan Gallucci, who was the emergency and didn't play this weekend, will also be in the mix.

Pyke was pleased with the Crows' performance but warned against getting ahead of themselves after their second win from five games this season.

"It was a good, strong win, playing the way we want to play," Pyke said.

"We saw some really positive signs, but it's one win.

"It gets us four points and it moves us to 2-3, so we're still below the ledger.

"We've still got some work to do, and we know that."

SHOWREEL Betts turns back the clock in game 300

Pyke was thrilled with small forward Eddie Betts kicking six goals in his 300th game, liked what he saw from Bryce Gibbs in his new role across half-back and said key forward Elliott Himmelberg competed strongly after coming into the side to replace Josh Jenkins.
