FLAG-WINNING small forward Willie Rioli will remain at West Coast until at least the end of 2022 after inking  a contract extension.

The livewire 23-year-old has added two more years to his current deal, coming off a 28-goal and 24-game premiership-winning season in his debut campaign.

He has been sorely missed in the Eagles forward line so far this year after suffering a foot stress fracture on the eve of round one, but should be back within three weeks.

"I'm pretty stoked that the club came to me and said we want you to sign a contract extension," Rioli said.

"It was something I didn't want to have to think (about) too much while I was in my rehab, so I'm happy to get it done.

"West Coast gave me the opportunity to be where I am today.

"I'm kind of grateful and just hope that we can keep the success happening."

Rioli was more than just a goalsneak last season, with the Tiwi Islands product's defensive pressure and stoppage craft becoming valuable assets.

He laid a career-high seven tackles in the Grand Final and was a member of West Coast's foursome attending the critical last centre bounce after Dom Sheed's go-ahead goal.

"Willie had a wonderful 2018 campaign, where he showed terrific growth on and off the field. We are absolutely delighted to have him sign on long term with the football club," general manager of football Craig Vozzo said.

"He is in many ways the all-round package as a forward who can also play through the midfield. He has a great blend of skill and aggression at the contest. He helps us both offensively and defensively.

"Willie is now one of the more experienced players in our forward line.

"Following the retirement of Mark LeCras, his standing in the forward line alongside Jamie Cripps is really important, both from a leadership and performance point of view."

While Rioli's future is locked away, the Eagles have yet to re-sign several out-of-contract veterans.

Premiership players Lewis Jetta, Chris Masten and Will Schofield are yet to receive new deals, while Nic Naitanui's negotiations present unique challenges given the marquee ruckman's injury history.
