COLLINGWOOD veteran Travis Varcoe could be set for a stint on the sidelines, after he was reported for rough conduct during the opening quarter of the Pies' round nine clash against St Kilda on Saturday afternoon.

Varcoe collected St Kilda youngster Ed Phillips high during an incident late in the opening quarter and was immediately reported by the onfield umpire.

The incident also involved Varcoe's teammate and Ed's brother Tom Phillips, with the two Collingwood players appearing to collect the Saint in a three-man collision.

Varcoe has been in and out of the Magpies' side this season, earning a recall for the Saints' clash due to a hamstring injury to livewire forward Jamie Elliott.

The Pies were forced to play the second half with one player short after Tom Langdon appeared to suffer a knee injury.

The defender tried to warm up during the half-time break but was clearly not fit enough to return to the field.

Collingwood had earlier made two late changes for the clash with Jordan De Goey (shin soreness) and Darcy Moore (ankle) withdrawn.
