PROVEN goalkicker Daniel Menzel is a confirmed starter for Sydney's clash with reigning premier West Coast at the SCG on Sunday afternoon.

His inclusion comes after the former Cat was initially left out of the Swans' side when their squad was trimmed on Friday afternoon.

However, a calf strain for fellow forward Will Hayward granted Menzel a reprieve, and he was brought back into the 22.

Both teams will go in unchanged.

Menzel missed the first half of the season with a groin issue that plagued him throughout the pre-season and made his Sydney debut last week in a quiet outing against Geelong, collecting seven disposals and a goal.

He has booted 137 goals in his 74-game career.

The Eagles haven't overcome Sydney at the SCG since 1999 and the challenge will be made even more difficult by the absence of dual club champion Elliot Yeo, who is nursing a calf complaint.

Josh Smith was brought in as his replacement.
