THE FIRST of the bye rounds proved a tipster's nightmare with a couple of big upsets.

Marc McGowan picked three winners to retain his advantage on the AFL.com.au leaderboard, two ahead of Paul Bastin, with Sarah Black and Travis King trailing a further point behind.

McGowan is also the only tipster remaining in the knockout Gauntlet competition after Damian Barrett fell by the wayside after picking Brisbane last weekend.
