Fantasy ready: All you need for your round 14 team

The Traders' Fantasy preview: round 14 Calvin, Roy and Warnie are up and about as they tackle the last of the bye rounds.

FOR THE first time this year, Dan Hannebery has been selected for his new club to take on the Brisbane Lions on Saturday afternoon. Hannebery played just one game in the VFL last week for 83 from 23 disposals and could be an option for those looking to offload Sam Walsh.

With Port Adelaide swinging the axe on Patrick Ryder, Justin Westhoff and Sam Powell-Pepper there is now plenty of room to bring back in Ollie Wines, Brad Ebert and Joel Garner for his second game for the year.

Josh Kennedy returns for the Swans after playing just one game in the last five weeks. Kennedy is currently averaging 103 for the season and sits in just one per cent of teams.

Despite his great tagging role on Zach Merrett last week, James Cousins has been omitted which should have the Sydney midfielders and defender Jake Lloyd resting a little easier heading into tonight’s big clash at the SCG.

Josh Dunkley (FWD/MID, $745,000)
Pumped out another huge score with 158 against the Blues. He now has a five-game average of 120 and needs to be a high priority upgrade target.

Griffin Logue (DEF, $254,000)
Overcame injury to finally play his first game of the season and exceeded expectation with 100 points. He has a break-even of negative 11.

James Sicily (DEF, $645,000)
With Jarryd Roughead coming back into the side and Ben Stratton out, there will be no worries about James Sicily playing forward this week. He will be back to his high-marking, high-scoring ways across half back.

Liam Baker (FWD, $511,000)
Has been outstanding for a player originally thought to have job security issues. He has increased an impressive $293K and is an easy upgrade to a premium.

Noah Balta (FWD/RUC, $374,000)
Played a handy 12 games and increased $204K. His scoring has dried up with a three-game average of 42 and it is the perfect time to trade.

Sam Walsh (MID, $600,000)
Has been an absolute sensation averaging 92 as a rookie and 100 in his last three. As justifiable as it is to hold, a trade to a top-line premium is on the cards.

Calvin’s Captains

No.1 – Max Gawn v Fremantle @ MCG
Gawn is the No.1 player based on form available to us this week and he ticks many boxes. Firstly, he’s back at the MCG where he has dominated quality opponents. He scored 148 in his last game there against Grundy, 132 against Mumford and 121 against Hawthorn’s Ben McEvoy. This week, he battles Sean Darcy, a guy he scored 124 against last year. Darcy looked very sore after his first game for the year last week, and will have his work cut out for him on Saturday afternoon.

No.2 – Jake Lloyd v Hawthorn @ SCG
Hawthorn gives up plenty of points to defenders. Last week, Hurley (111 from 12 marks) and Hooker (101 from 12 marks) had one of their best games for the year against the Hawks and before that it was Byrne-Jones (126 from 8 marks) and Broadbent (100 from 7 marks) who had their best games for the season.

No.3 – Brodie Grundy v Bulldogs @ Marvel Stadium
Prior to his bye, Grundy was hampered slightly by an ankle and a neck injury. The rest would have done him the world of good as he takes on Tim English, a guy he dominated in round four when he scored 158 and won the hit-out count 58-6.

No.4 – Patrick Dangerfield v Port Adelaide @ Adelaide Oval
He loves playing in Adelaide where he has scored 132, 151, 109, 112, 129 and 115 in his last six games. He has averaged 116 in his last three against Port and should be great, just like he was when he scored 162 before his bye.

No.5 – Josh Dunkley v Collingwood @ the MCG
After a huge 158 from 41 touches last weekend, it’s hard to look past Dunkley as he takes on the Pies. Despite only scoring 67 against them earlier this year, his role in the team is back to what it should be… in the midfield.
