PORT Adelaide star Travis Boak is set to return for the Power's crucial encounter with Brisbane at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

The former skipper was a late scratching from last Saturday's 57-point thumping of Adelaide in Showdown 47 when he tweaked his back in the warm-up.

Key defender Tom Clurey was confident Boak, who has been in All Australian form after moving back to the midfield, would be right to face the Lions.

"I think he's alright," Clurey told reporters on Monday afternoon.

"He did some running this morning at the club, so I think he'll be good to go."

The Power (seventh, 8-7) have taken some big scalps this season – beating reigning premiers West Coast in Perth, knocking off ladder leaders Geelong in round 14 and smashing the Crows with a brutal second-half display.

However, they've failed to win back-to-back games since rounds five and six this year and were labelled as unreliable and untrustworthy by coach Ken Hinkley after their round 15 loss to the Bulldogs.

"We know that we're a good team and we can beat anyone and we've shown that over the last three weeks," Clurey said.

"We were happy with the performance Saturday night, but now we're already looking forward to next week.

"We know we've got to rock up, be ready to go and bring that same four-quarter effort.

"Brisbane are rolling at the moment, they're in the top four and they got us done earlier in the year.

"We'll be looking to play that same brand of footy we played on Saturday night."

NINE THINGS WE LEARNED Is the Eddie Betts show on its last legs?

Clurey has been in outstanding form in recent weeks.

He kept Crows co-captain Taylor Walker to just two goals on the back of strong performances against Fremantle's Jesse Hogan, Geelong's Tom Hawkins and Western Bulldogs young gun Aaron Naughton.

"It definitely gives me confidence knowing that I can pretty much play on anyone now, but that's what I'm expected to do," he said.

"I've been in the team for a few years now, so I need to get my job done for the team."
