Gold Coast's head physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the club's website that Martin's stint on the sidelines would become clearer after seeing more specialists later in the week.

It's another big blow for a Suns team reeling from injuries.

Teenager Wil Powell is likely to miss the remainder of the season after injuring his knee in the opening quarter of the loss to the Tigers.

"Wil injured his lateral meniscus in a tackle," Bull said.

"He’s going to consult with a knee specialist in the coming days and we'll have a plan of action moving forwards after that."

Another Sun needing to see a knee specialist is Aaron Young, who did damage to both his medial and posterior co-lateral ligaments in the NEAFL at the weekend.
