OVERLOOKED Port Adelaide ruckman Scott Lycett has given the Power a welcome selection headache for Saturday night's encounter with North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

Lycett – who signed from West Coast on a five-year deal at the end of last season – responded to his axing in the best possible way, turning in a dominant performance in Port's 63-point thumping of Woodville-West Torrens at Alberton Oval on Sunday.

The 26-year-old was a class above, finishing with 33 hitouts, 30 disposals, eight marks (including two contested), seven clearances and seven inside 50s.

However, it's going to be difficult to displace rookie-listed big man Peter Ladhams, who has been impressive in his two games since replacing Lycett.

THE RUN HOME How high can these Dogs go?

After a strong showing in the Power's 59-point thumping of Essendon in round 20, Ladhams backed it up with 23 disposals, 19 hitouts, seven clearances and six inside 50s in a 47-point win over Sydney at Adelaide Oval last Saturday.

Ladhams, along with Paddy Ryder, made the most of the Swans going into the game without a specialist ruckman.

"We were thrilled with Scott Lycett's attitude playing for the Magpies yesterday," Power assistant coach Brett Montgomery said.

"With the SANFL bye, he didn't have a chance to respond to being omitted immediately, which is always hard.

"We were happy with his performance."

The Power could be faced with another difficult decision with defender Ryan Burton set to be available after missing the past four weeks with a hamstring injury.

The former Hawk is in the Power's best 22, but he might be forced to come back through the SANFL as several other regulars have done this season.

"Ryan Burton is every chance to play this week," Montgomery said.

"He had a great training week last week.

"It will be an interesting conversation at selection, but I would expect him to be available."
