ADELAIDE star Rory Sloane and wife Belinda have welcomed a baby boy into the world – just over a year after tragically losing their first child to a stillbirth.

The couple's son, Sonny Leo Sloane, was born on Monday, with Rory and Belinda making the announcement through their respective Instagram pages on Tuesday night.

The middle name is a tribute to their first son Leo, who was stillborn at 34 weeks on August 24, 2018.

Last month, the Sloanes bravely opened up about their experience in a moving interview to raise awareness and reduce the rate of stillbirths in Australia.

The couple planned on giving Leo some siblings.

"We would definitely love to add to the family - one thing we know for sure is that they'll always know about their big brother Leo," Belinda said last month.

"I think what we've found comfort in is they'll always have someone watching over them," Rory said.

"It certainly helps us knowing that there's someone watching over us and he's always with us."

The Sloanes, in conjunction with Red Nose Australia, created the Lion Warrior donation fund to help reduce the rate of stillbirths.
