AFL MEDIA'S reporters and photographers have taken home four gongs at the Australia Football Media Association's annual awards night.

Photographer Jono Searle claimed two awards: Best Photographer and Best Action Photo for his image of Melbourne ruckman Max Gawn.

Reporter Mitch Cleary won the award for Best Feature writer for his portfolio that included a look at the frantic final hours of Dylan Shiel's trade from GWS to Essendon and a day spent with St Kilda during the pre-season.

And the wider AFL Media editorial team, spearheaded by AFLW reporter Sarah Black, won the award for Best Coverage of AFL Women's football.

Fox Footy and SEN's Garry Lyon won the night's most prestigious prize, the Alf Brown Award.
