JEREMY Cameron won't be burdened by his lack of finals goals when Greater Western Sydney faces Collingwood in Saturday's preliminary final.

Cameron is the Giants' all-time leading scorer with 399 goals from his 152 games, he's won the club's goalkicking title in each of his seven seasons (ties with Toby Greene, Jon Patton in 2017), and will take it home again this year.

However, it is this year's Coleman medallist's success in finals that continues to be talked about, with the 26-year-old managing just 12 from seven matches in September.

He started off brilliantly with a four-goal haul in the Giants' first ever final against Sydney in 2016 but went goalless from just two kicks a fortnight later when GWS was upset in the preliminary final by the Western Bulldogs.

Twelve months later he failed to hit the scoreboard again and suffered a season-ending hamstring injury against Adelaide, and last year, while his form was solid, he kicked a combined 3.6 in the Giants' two finals.

Cameron told AFL.com.au that despite his status as the club's No.1 forward, he doesn't feel any extra pressure to kick a big bag against the Pies.

"It was really hard watching the boys take on Richmond a couple of years ago when they rolled us in the preliminary final," he said.

"I'll just be doing everything I've been trying to do this whole season and that's to play my role and provide a strong target.

"I'm one of the older players in the forward line now so I need to make sure I get around the boys and make sure we're all in the right spots.

"A lot of that responsibility falls on my shoulders now so I'm looking forward to it."

Cameron (72 goals this season), breakout star Jeremy Finlayson (42) and Harry Himmelberg (37) have given the Giants a talented trio of athletic and versatile tall targets in 2019, with Finlayson's emergence taking even his teammate by surprise.

"It was a bit of a shock move at the start of the year," Cameron said.

"To be honest 'Jezz' was probably going to be sent straight back to the backline but he kicked five against Richmond in round three and (GWS coach) Leon (Cameron) probably sat back and said, 'I might leave him there' and he did.

"It's funny how it all unfolds."

Himmelberg has struggled to find the goals in recent weeks and has kicked just two in his past three games, not that it worries his fellow forwards.

The gifted 23-year-old is the No.1-ranked player in the game for goal assists this season, and even though he was quiet against Brisbane last week, it was Himmelberg's quick-thinking snap around the body that led to the matchwinner from speedster Brent Daniels.

"In the past Harry might have been flat with the way he played and had his head down going into this week, but that's not how it is at all," Cameron said.

"He's been enormous all year with his goal assists and his time will come for sure.

"That's the best aspect of our group, one guy might get the opportunities one week, and for any given reason the footy might not get to them the following week.

FINALS PREDICTOR Who will win the 2019 premiership?

"We just have to keep a level head and return to that mindset that if we keep working hard, the goals will come.

"As long as we're playing as one unit it doesn't matter."
