ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accountant will report to our Senior Accountant and is responsible for the maintenance of accurate and complete financial accounting records for the Melbourne Football Club. As a part of this role you will assist other areas of the business from a financial viewpoint to help achieve their respective goals. You will be required to prepare and distribute weekly KPI reports to internal stakeholders and complete month end reporting including reconciliation of the club's contra accounts.

You will manage and maintain the accuracy of cost centre forecasting and ensure that the club has precise 90-day cashflow forecasts. You will identify any cashflow risks and execute mitigation strategies should it be required.

The accountant will assist in the budgeting process and the year-end audit, whilst preparing the annual FBT return and lodging AFL reporting such as the Club financial review (CFR) and total player payment requirements (TPP).

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL…

With experience using accounting software and an understanding of the Australian Accounting standards and relevant tax legislation, you will have 4 or more years of accounting experience and a tertiary qualification.

With advanced Excel skills you will have a strong attention to detail and capability to meet tight deadlines. You will work well in a team and be able to provide support to other team members. You are CPA/ CA qualified, or in the process of doing so and have experience working with a CRM.

You are a self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic. You are flexible, adaptable and an excellent collaborator with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
