ABOUT THE ROLE:

Richmond Football Club members and supporters are the most passionate and committed in the AFL. Therefore, they deserve the very best in service and support from staff at their football club. With over 100,000 members and more than half a million supporters, the use of customer data and insights is key to understanding our supporters and their needs.

The Data & Analytics Manager is responsible for managing and using consumer data to improve the way we engage with the supporters. This opportunity provides exposure to a broad range of customer engagement channels and technical solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:         

  1. Continually review data and operational system infrastructure, identifying and implementing improvements which increase our capability.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships across the industry (AFL, other Clubs, Telstra, suppliers) to improve the way the Club uses data.
  3. Support the development and maintenance of a Club data warehouse. Preference will be given to applicants with SQL skills capable of leading this development.
  4. Meeting with senior managers across Digital & Marketing, Consumer Business, Commercial Operations and Community to understand their strategies and business challenges.
  5. Establishing a suite of reports for the business, measuring the performance of these strategies.
  6. Working with staff to understand business processes and helping to develop new strategies and technical solutions to improve these processes and allow greater reporting.
  7. Conducting ad hoc analytics providing insights to the business and supporting segmentation strategies, product development, churn reduction strategies and improved operations.
  8. Ensuring we are compliant and keep up to date with best practice privacy processes.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative field (science, engineering, computer science or equivalent).
  2. At least three years’ experience working in a related role (business intelligence or reporting).
  3. Demonstrated experience using Tableau for business intelligence reporting.
  4. Demonstrated ability and experience in meaningful data analysis design and reporting with logical and insightful data flow.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop positive organizational relationships with diverse cross-section of business users.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  1. Previous experience in B2C industries or sport.
  2. Previous experience with some of the other systems mentioned above, preferably SQL and / or Google Analytics.
  3. Tableau certification.
