He had previously played 184 games for Carlton, before featuring 132 times for Adelaide.

The No.19 jumper that was synonymous with Betts' time at Carlton had been worn by young defender Angus Schumacher last season, but he was delisted in August.

Betts' 184 games in the No.19 jumper are the most in that particular number in Carlton's history, followed by Ian Collins (161 games) Ron Cooper (157) and Denis Zeunert (110).
