GOLD Coast co-captain David Swallow has copped a one-match suspension for his ugly hit on Port Adelaide's Justin Westhoff on Saturday night, but Essendon defender Michael Hurley and North Melbourne half-back Jasper Pittard have walked away without bans.

Hurley has escaped with a $2000 fine for his late strike on Fremantle youngster Sam Sturt in a spoiling contest, avoiding a suspension after the incident was graded as 'careless' and not 'intentional' by Match Review Officer Michael Christian.

Meanwhile, Pittard also walked away with a $2000 fine for tripping Dan Butler in what was a crude attempt at stopping the run of the St Kilda forward.

But Swallow will miss the Suns' next match – whenever it is played – with his late elbow to the jaw of Westhoff deemed worthy of a one-game suspension by Christian.
