YOUNG Greater Western Sydney recruit Jeremy Finlayson will have a delayed start to his first pre-season after undergoing hip surgery.
The 18-year old will be on a restricted program for 12-16 weeks and is expected to resume full training in late January.
Finlayson came through the Giants’ Academy program and will officially join the club at the NAB AFL Draft on November 27, after they selected him at last month’s bidding meeting.
Finlayson is a 195cm mobile forward who also has the ability to play in defence, on the wing and in the ruck.
He grew up in Culcairn in the Riverina and will join his new teammates this week as pre-season training starts for first to fourth year players.
