WEST Coast star Nic Naitanui says his unrivalled leap will not be affected this season after overcoming the groin injury that restricted him in 2013.

Naitanui, who was an All Australian in 2012 but was limited to 11 games last year, has returned to full training and appears on track for the Eagles' season opener against the Western Bulldogs on March 23.

The 23-year-old said his electrifying leap had not been impacted by the lingering groin issues that also interrupted his start to this pre-season.

"The body's all good now … I'm back in full training," he said at the launch of the 2014 Australia Post multicultural ambassador program.

"I've been pretty confident in my program and I feel I'm ready to go.

"The boys had [an intra-club] hit-out the other day and I'm pretty envious because I wanted to be playing a full game out there.

"I'm probably a couple of weeks away [from playing], it's just a matter of mapping out which game it is."

Naitanui was joined at Thursday's launch by multicultural ambassadors Bachar Houli, Jobe Watson, Majak Daw, Alipate Carlile, Stephen Coniglio, Jimmy Toumpas, Lin Jong and Patrick Karnezis.

Karnezis, who crossed from the Brisbane Lions to Collingwood in the off-season, is battling a groin injury of his own that is set to delay his start to the season.

The 21-year-old said he was making progress but it had been a frustrating start at his new club.

"I'm starting to get fit and start my training as all the other areas of pain have gone," he said.

"It could be four to six [weeks] in terms of coming back through the VFL and seeing what happens there.

"It's been a bit challenging coming to a new team and being on the sidelines and not being able to prove and show what you've got."

Meanwhile, following Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt's self imposed media ban, Houli said the star goalkicker had a tendency to go over the top with his on-field body language.

Riewoldt was left out of the Tigers' five-man leadership group this season after defender Troy Chaplin was elevated.

"Jack is extremely passionate and he's a little bit upset about the result," Houli said.

"We all know how passionate Jack is and sometimes he takes it over and above.

"His on-field leadership is going to be there and his off-field leadership is going to be there.

"You might receive the wrong message from Jack but he is all about team success."
