"With a five-day break between games, we aren’t taken any risks with Josh," Giants footy boss Jason McCartney said.

"At this stage we’re confident he’ll be able for selection next week.

"Jackson Hately has been banging the door down with his training form and we’re confident he’ll be able to play a role tonight."

Greene (knee) and young defender Isaac Cumming (omitted) had already been left out of the side to take on the Bulldogs earlier in the week, replaced by debutant Lachie Ash and small forward Zac Langdon.

The Bulldogs will line up as selected, with premiership trio Zaine Cordy, Toby McLean and Toby Liberatore all returning.
