THE RIDE may have shortened to 16 minutes per quarter, but they have still managed to pack plenty of highs and lows into the AFL Fantasy rollercoaster!

As far as the lows go... the past two weeks have been brutal on the injury front with a large number of coaches copping a zero, one and now a two on the back of Hayden Young's injury on the weekend.

Once again, not much I can say other than 'be the butter mouse' and keep plugging away… hopefully our fortunes change soon.

The writing has been on the wall for a number of weeks that Swans defender Callum Mills was on the verge of a big game and he certainly achieved it this week. He was everywhere against the Tigers on his way to a round-high 125 from 29 touches, which included 23 kicks and nine marks. He is certainly someone to consider bringing into your side, given his new-found ceiling and freedom.

Honourable mention: Reilly O'Brien responded as well as he could have hoped following his Twitter 'mare' in the leadup to his meeting with Nic Naitanui. In what could have been an absolute disaster match up with the star Eagle, he more than held his own around the ground, a strategy that coincidently was in his pre-game notes… tick. He had 19 possessions, nine marks and seven tackles for the second-highest score of the round with 114.

Rage Trades

Bomber Dylan Shiel has had a great season to date with two scores over 110 including a high of 122. Unfortunately for his coaches, he had a poor game against the Roos, battling injury and an indiscretion that will cause him to miss two games, all for a score of just 55. Fortunately he is at a nice price to upgrade to an uber premium.

Jack Crisp is playing well below the standard his bullish coaches paid a premium price for at the start of the year. Despite the fact he still often finds himself in good roles, he just isn't getting his hand on the ball like we have become accustomed. Against the Hawks on the weekend he produced his third score in the 50s for the year with 54 from 15 touches. Although premium defenders are slim pickings, there are definitely upgrades available.

Honourable mention: Patrick Cripps

Sam Simpson returned to the big league on Thursday night and to be honest, it looked like he should never have left. He had the ball on a string against the Lions with 27 possessions, six marks and five tackles for an outstanding score of 102. He is your must have cash cow trade this week!

OK legends, keep pushing through and trade smart despite the temptation to rage… that's not the way to stop your team spiralling out of control. We have a great downgrade target in Simpson so lock that in and use the cash to upgrade a rookie or under-performer that deserves the chop!
