In fact, Chris Fagan's men had an entire pre-season to think about what went wrong at the Gabba in that gripping September contest.

Finally, on Saturday they get a chance to right those wrongs at Giants Stadium.

"They knocked us out in the semi-finals," small forward Charlie Cameron said.

"We're looking forward to it."

Brisbane re-watched the gut-wrenching loss during its pre-season, realising "little things" cost even more in September.

Fagan has used the loss as a reference point to remind his team to play boldly, unlike it did in the fourth quarter that night.

"I think there was moments in the game, ill-disciplined acts, we gave away free kicks in that first quarter that cost us, and we were chasing after that," Cameron said.

"Those little moments.

"That's what we took away from it.

NINE THINGS WE LEARNED New-look Saints, same old problems

"We came back in pre-season and had a look at that game and saw what we did well, what we didn't do well and what cost us."

Not only do the Lions have that burned into their memories, but even more fresh is last Thursday night's horror loss to Geelong.

ALL THE HIGHLIGHTS

Against the Cats, a diabolical third term, where they conceded seven goals, halted Brisbane's four-game winning streak.

Cameron says the Lions have no problems playing on the road, despite the team losing its only two matches outside of Brisbane this season.

THE LADDER Where is your team sitting?

"Last year we won three games in a row on the road at the end of the year. We'll take it as it comes," he said.

"We've waited nine days for this game, it's a long time between drinks. I can't wait until Saturday because we're sitting around the hotel and waiting.

"It should be a good game this weekend between two explosive teams, two exciting teams. We're looking forward to it."
