AFL Statement

The AFL advises the Match Review for the Sunday games of Round Eight has been completed. Six charges were laid with one other incident requiring an explanation.

Charges Laid:
Kyle Langford, Essendon has been charged with Forceful Front-On Contact against Shane McAdam, Adelaide Crows, during the second quarter of the Round Eight match between the Adelaide Crows and Essendon, played at Adelaide Oval on Sunday July 26.

Incident assessed:
The separate match day reports laid against Adelaide Crows’ Matt Crouch and Essendon’s Jacob Townsend from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Both players simultaneously grab each other's guernseys, causing a clash of heads. It was the view of the MRO that the actions of Crouch and Townsend did not constitute a reportable offence. No further actions was taken.
