ADELAIDE will be without former skipper Taylor Walker for its clash with North Melbourne on Saturday after he withdrew with illness.

The club said Walker had come down with a bout of gastro and did not travel to Queensland on Saturday morning with his team for the Metricon Stadium clash, which begins at 2.35pm AEST.

He will be replaced by 204cm ruck/forward Kieran Strachan, who will make his AFL debut against North. Strachan, 24, was drafted by the Crows with pick No.7 in the 2018 NAB AFL Rookie Draft. 

The Kangaroos will line up as named, with Majak Daw to play his first AFL game since suffering serious injuries to his pelvis and hips in December 2018.
