AFLW Statement

The AFL wishes to advise the following paperwork has been formally lodged with the league as part of the 2020 AFL Women’s Sign and Trade Period as at 2:00pm today, Wednesday August 12. The 2020 AFLW Women's Sign and Trade Period has now finished.

Approved trades:
 
16. Gold Coast trade Charlotte Hammans to Carlton for their 4th Round selection (currently 56).

17. Gold Cast trade Taylor Smith, selection 37 and their 4th round selection (currently 51) to Brisbane for selection 24.

18. St Kilda trade Alison Drennan to the Gold Coast for selection 24.

 

Previously approved trades:
 
1. Carlton trade Sarah Hosking to Richmond for selection 15.
 
2. Richmond trade Grace Campbell to North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos for selection 43.
 
3. North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos trade Abbey Green to Collingwood for selection 40.
 
4. Carlton trade Jayde Van Dyk and selection 42 to St Kilda for selection 36.

5. Collingwood trade Sarah D’Arcy to Richmond for selection 17.
 
6. The following three-Club trade was approved which included the following exchanges:

  • Collingwood trades Sarah Dargan to Richmond for selections 31 and 45
  • Melbourne trades Aliesha Newman and selection 11 to Collingwood for selections 10 and 17
  • Melbourne trades Harriett Cordner to Richmond.

7. Western Bulldogs trade Aisling McCarthy and selection 3 to the West Coast Eagles for selections 2 and 16.
 

8. St Kilda have traded Jessica Sedunary & selection 42 (on traded from Carlton) to Adelaide for selection 34.
 
9. The following three-Club trade was approved which included the following exchanges:
  • North Melbourne trade selection 29 to Melbourne.
  • Melbourne trade Bianca Jakobsson to St Kilda.
  • North Melbourne trade selection 40 (on traded from Collingwood) & their 4th round selection (currently selection 57) to St Kilda for selection 22 & their 4th round selection (currently selection 50).
10. The following three-Club trade was approved which included the following exchanges:
  • GWS trade Lisa Whitely & selection 25 to Adelaide for selection 42.
  • GWS trade selection 39 to Melbourne for Katherine Smith & selection 29. 
  • Adelaide trade selection 20 to Melbourne.
11. The following three-Club trade was approved which included the following exchanges:
  • Adelaide trade selection 25 to Western Bulldogs for Hannah Munyard.
  • Collingwood trade selection 45 to Adelaide.
  • Western Bulldogs trade selection 33 to Collingwood for Katie Lynch. 

12. Western Bulldogs trade selections 19 and 25 to Collingwood for selection 11.

13. Carlton traded selection 15 to Melbourne for Elise O'Dea and Madeleine Guerin. 

14. Geelong trade selections 5, 35 & fourth round (currently 49) to Melbourne for selections 10, 20, 27 & 39.

15. The following three-Club trade was approved which included the following exchanges:

  • Fremantle trade Tayla Bresland to West Coast for their 4th round selection (currently 46)
  • North Melbourne trade Jessica Trend to Fremantle for selection 44

During this period, Clubs will be permitted to sign up to 27 players, including rookie players. Rookie players in the AFL Women’s Competition are those that have not been listed with any Australian football team for the past three years.
