FREMANTLE has locked away one of its most exciting youngsters Liam Henry with two fellow top-10 picks closing in on joining him.

AFL.com.au understands the Dockers have re-signed Henry on a new deal that will tie him to the club until at least the end of 2023.

Midfield dynamo Caleb Serong and defender Hayden Young – both Victorians – are also in advanced talks with the club on inking new long-term contracts.

Both are expected to put pen to paper in coming weeks.

Young, Serong and Henry were taken at picks seven, eight and nine in last year's NAB AFL Draft and are seen as the drivers of the club's revival under new coach Justin Longmuir.

All players taken in the national draft are given an initial two-year draft contract – in this case to 2021.

Henry is yet to debut after a persistent knee injury delayed him during the shutdown period, but was close to selection for last week's loss to Carlton.

The Next Generation Academy product is tipped to be in the frame for the Dockers' clash with Sydney on Saturday night.

Young debuted in round two and played five matches before succumbing to a season-ending syndesmosis injury in round six that required surgery.

Meanwhile, Serong has been one of the biggest revelations for Fremantle this season and is one of the leading contenders for the NAB AFL Rising Star.

He was the Dockers' second Rising Star nomination for the season after forward Sam Sturt's three-goal performance in round one.
