SLUMPING Hawthorn has made an astonishing seven changes for Sunday's quick turnaround against St Kilda at Metricon Stadium.

The 16th-placed Hawks, who on Tuesday became the first team this year to lose to Adelaide, have now made 21 changes across the past four matches in the fixture cram.

It comes as Essendon elects to rest Joe Daniher and not play him for the third time in 11 days after his long groin-related layoff.

Young gun Will Day, Sam Frost, debutant Damon Greaves, Dylan Moore – in for his first game of the season – Josh Morris, Liam Shiels and Harry Morrison are in for Hawthorn

Meanwhile, spearhead Josh Kennedy (concussion) is back to bolster West Coast's chances against the Western Bulldogs at Metricon Stadium on Sunday night.

Jake Waterman and Brayden Ainsworth round out the Eagles' inclusions – meaning Hamish Brayshaw won't make his AFL debut – but they lost Luke Shuey (hamstrings) and managed Shannon Hurn.

Developing tall Bailey Williams was dropped.

The Bulldogs also made three changes, with Zaine Cordy, Sam Lloyd and Roarke Smith coming in for Easton Wood and Laitham Vandermeer (both hamstring) and Tory Dickson (omitted).
