SYDNEY star Tom Papley will be staying with the Swans in 2021.

AFL.com.au has confirmed the gun goalkicker, who sought a trade back to Victoria last season, has decided not to pursue a move again at the end of this year.

Circling clubs were informed of the decision in recent days.

Papley is contracted to the Swans until the end of 2023 and is a shot at making the Virgin Australia AFL All Australian team this season after his scintillating start.

But prying him out of the Swans would have been hard work for rivals given the club wouldn't budge on his request to get to Carlton last year.

The Blues were set for another shot at the small forward, whose family lives in Victoria, while Essendon and Melbourne had also been linked to him. 

Papley has booted 24 goals this season, taking his career tally to 144 from 98 games with the club since he was selected in the rookie draft at the end of 2015.  

He has proven a vital player for the Swans since arriving, having been a part of the leadership group before dropping out of that for 2020.
