The AFL has today announced the medal presenters for the 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final, along with the 2020 Toyota Premiership Cup Ambassador.

Norm Smith Medal

Byron Pickett - A member of the North Melbourne premiership side in 1999 and also a member of the maiden Port Adelaide premiership side in 2004, Byron played 204 league games with three clubs, finishing his AFL career with Melbourne. A member of the Indigenous Team of the Century, Byron won the Norm Smith Medal in 2004 with a dominant role in the win over the Brisbane Lions, kicking three goals in the Power’s 40-point win. As a former winner, he will present the Norm Smith medal.

Jock McHale Medal

Malcolm Blight - One of just 29 Legends of the Game, having been elevated to this status in 2017. A dual premiership player with North Melbourne, he is the only person in football history to win all four major individual awards across the SANFL and VFL, claiming both the Magarey Medal and Brownlow Medal as best player in either competition and the Farmer Medal and Coleman Medal as leading goalkicker in both competitions.

After 330 games as a player in SA and Victoria, kicking 786 goals, he then coached North Melbourne, Woodville, Geelong, the Adelaide Crows and St Kilda. He is the presenter of the Jock McHale Medal to the premiership coach, in recognition for leading the Adelaide Crows to back-to-back premierships in 1997-98.

Ambassador for the Premiership Cup

Simon Black - One of just six men (Greg Williams, James Hird, Chris Judd, Jimmy Bartel, Dustin Martin) to boast a premiership medallion, Norm Smith medal and a Brownlow medal, Simon played a club-record 322 games for the Brisbane Lions between 1998-2013. A member of all three Brisbane premiership teams between 2001-03, he won the Brownlow Medal in 2002 and the Norm Smith medal in 2003. He was Inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2020, and has accepted the AFL’s invitation to be the Ambassador for the Premiership Cup.
