MATT PRIDDIS
The 2014 Brownlow medallist is one of the most underrated players in the AFL. Some were surprised by his Brownlow win but few within the walls of West Coast were. He is the Eagles' talisman in the midfield and sets an example unlike any other with his professionalism at the club. He was number one in the AFL for total disposals last year and second in contested possessions. He has finished in the top two of the club's best and fairest four of the last five years, winning the club champion award in 2013. He performs in the midfield week in, week out and does it with a minimum of fuss.
KEY 2014 STATS: 22 games. Ranked number one in the AFL for disposals, second for contested possessions and third for tackles.

ERIC MACKENZIE
To beat a Brownlow medallist in a best and fairest count you have to have had a stunning season and Eric Mackenzie did that as the Eagles' number one defender. He also narrowly finished second to Priddis in the 2013 best and fairest and played one less game than the prolific midfielder. Every week Mackenzie takes on the competitions best power forwards and is rarely beaten in physical battles. He has exceptional closing speed for a big man allowing him to defend equally well on the lead as he does one on one. He ranked third in the AFL for spoils in 2014 and eighth for intercept marks. He has become a leader in the heart of defence for the Eagles and is one of their most valuable players.
KEY 2014 STATS: 22 games. Ranked third in the AFL for spoils, eighth for intercept marks and number one at West Coast for rebounds from defensive 50.
