The AFL wishes to congratulate Geelong's Patrick Dangerfield ahead of his 350th AFL game this round.
The 2016 Brownlow Medallist and eight-time All Australian is set to become the 25th player in VFL/AFL history to reach 350 games, having made his debut late in the 2008 season for the Adelaide Crows.
Dangerfield was originally selected with pick No.10 in the 2007 AFL Draft and played 154 games for the Crows before moving to Geelong for the 2016 AFL season.
He is the only player to have polled three Brownlow votes in a game against 18 different clubs, amassing a total of 251 votes in his career, second only to former teammate Gary Ablett Jnr (262).
When Geelong won the 2022 premiership, it was Dangerfield’s 303rd career game, with Shane Crawford (305) being the only other person to play 300 games before becoming a premiership player.
He will be the fourth person in competition history to reach 350 games averaging 20+ disposals and 1+ goals per game, alongside Kevin Bartlett, Brent Harvey and Gary Ablett Jnr.
AFL Chief Executive Andrew Dillon recognised Dangerfield.
"Patrick has had one of the most remarkable AFL careers over the past 18 seasons at both the Adelaide and Geelong Football Clubs. A natural leader, he has been a central part of Geelong’s success in recent years and is a true champion of our game," Mr Dillon said.
"The AFL congratulates him on reaching this significant milestone, achieved by only 25 players across the history of the competition. I look forward to watching the Cats' fans celebrate his career on Friday night, as he stands as one of the great players of this era."
The AFL's Historian has compiled a list of key numbers and achievements across Dangerfield's career:
