Families across the country are making the most of the AFL’s national Kids Go Free campaign, with the final week of the much-loved initiative set to wrap up this weekend.

Held annually, Kids Go Free Month…thanks to Coles will see children aged 14 years and under able to attend the footy for free* at all matches played between Rounds 16-19 of the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, coinciding with school holidays across the country.

Since launching this year’s campaign in Round 16, the 2025 Kids Go Free initiative has helped 9,000 junior attendees experience an AFL match for the first time, while a further 6,000 juniors have attended their first AFL match this season.

As part of this year’s celebrations, the annual ‘Design Your Own AFL Ball’ competition has seen a record number of entries, with more than 4,000 designs received from children across the country for their chance to have their artwork produced onto a football and delivered to their school for their classmates to enjoy.

Round 19 of the Kids Go Free campaign will provide a host of family friendly activities and enhanced match-day experiences including face-painting, photobooths, house DJ, free food and beverage offerings, and more!

Channel Seven’s popular ‘Kids Call’ initiative will also return to the screens on 7Plus, with Western Bulldogs star Cody Weightman and North Melbourne spearhead Nick Larkey joining some of the best young commentators to call the Round 19 match between Collingwood and Fremantle at the MCG.

This year marks the fourth year of the Kids Go Free initiative, which saw a 12.8% uplift in junior attendance through the campaign period compared to the season average last year, as well as a growth in new audiences with 24,500 people purchasing junior tickets for the first time in the 2024 season.

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Bec Haagsma said Kids Go Free initiatives were important offerings for families.

"The AFL is encouraging families across the country to snap up their tickets and make the most of the final week of Kids Go Free Month, with a fantastic range of family-friendly activities on offer," Haagsma said.

"The initiative has already seen more than 15,000 kids get their first taste of football this year, and we’re looking forward to seeing more families enjoy our game this weekend."
