This is the first Graduate Program of its kind for the AFL. You will be part of history and forge the way for the program’s success for future graduates like you.

You're eligible for the Graduate Program if you are due to complete your bachelor (or greater) degree in 2023, and ready to join the program full-time in February 2024. We also welcome applications from those who completed their degree in 2022 and are prepared to join the program in February 2024.

We are encouraging applicants across a range of disciplines including Law, Arts, Engineering, Marketing, Media/Communications, Sports Management, Finance, Commerce, Information Technology, Human Resources. Successful applicants will be matched with rotations that align with their qualifications and interests.

The program will commence in February 2024 and run through until December 2024.

You will experience a structured and development-rich program that includes a comprehensive induction, immersive experiences, and invaluable mentorship from senior leaders. You will network with fellow graduates and engage with experienced leaders from different areas of the AFL business.

We have so many exciting departments across the AFL for you to experience. Some of these include Corporate Affairs, Finance, Procurement, Media, Marketing, Legal, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Data and Technology, Social Media and People. Applications open on Monday 14^th August 2023 and will close on Monday 4^th September 2023.

We are expecting a high level of applications. Successful applicants that meet our criteria will complete a short phone interview with one of the People team. If successful through this stage – you will be notified via email and confirmed to attend an assessment center. The assessment center will take place in mid-September and will require you to be available for an in-person selection process in Melbourne. The assessment center will be a half day event.

No. Our assessment centers will be held in person in September 2023.

It pays to be prepared! Do your homework before the Assessment Centre and find out everything you can about the program and us. Also, it’s worth reflecting on how your skills and experience match what we’re looking for. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and network with AFL leaders within the Career Pathway you've applied to, so we recommend you’re prepared to discuss your interest and understanding in this area.

We trust that you will ‘dress for your day’ and ‘ dress for success’. Smart casual is our vibe. 

The AFL enjoys a hybrid model of working. We have “connect days” at the office on a Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week. Tuesdays and Fridays you can work from where you want.

This is a full time role with a standard 37.5 hour working week.

These roles are all based in Victoria at AFL House.

Our starting salary is competitive with the graduate market. We'll discuss details of the remuneration and bonus structure throughout the recruitment process. We also offer a huge range of rewards and benefits outside of your salary.

The AFL are not able to support you to obtain your LPC. This role suits a law graduate looking to move into a commercial setting and as such does not require a current practicing certificate.

Yes. We will require all team members to have a valid Working with Children Check. We will reimburse you for the cost of the check when you start with us.
