A VARIED outfit has been selected in this year's AFL.com.au All-Australian side, with 12 clubs represented and 11 potential first-timers making the team selected by our reporters from across the country.

Nine AFL.com.au reporters from four different states nominated their All-Australian teams after the 46-man squad was announced on Monday, with 40 players earning at least one vote.

Adelaide, Brisbane and Hawthorn had a League-high three players selected in AFL.com.au's final team, while the minor premier Fremantle surprisingly only had two players chosen.

Six clubs – Carlton, Essendon, Richmond, West Coast, North Melbourne and Gold Coast – didn't manage to have a player selected, with the Bombers, Tigers and Eagles not even having anyone in the 46-man squad.

The team would see 11 potential first-time All-Australians in a group that includes Wayne Milera, Izak Rankine, Will Ashcroft, Logan Morris, Luke Jackson, Josh Treacy, Jai Newcombe, Ollie Dempsey, Lachie Ash, Jarman Impey and Nick Watson.

Only eight players were unanimously voted into all nine sides including Marcus Bontempelli, Jordan Dawson, Nick Daicos, Treacy, Watson, Charlie Curnow, Max Gawn and Jackson.

Gawn's selection in the ruck would see him become a nine-time All-Australian, achieving a landmark first in the history of the honour, putting him in the frame for the captaincy likely alongside Adelaide's Dawson.
